DAM CRACK REPAIR

Shortly after the dam was built, cracks developed in the concrete structure.  Several repairs were completed between 1980 and 1992.  These involved opening the cracks and:

None of these remedial actions were effective.  In 1998 , following the advice of our consultant, Gastel & Asociates, it became necesary to repair these cracks in a definitive manner.
Different corrective measurers were considered.  Injecting epoxy resin into the cracks was selected as the most effevtive method.  Quotes were solicited and Structural Bonding Systems of GraftonWisconsin were awarded the contract.

The process involved:

It was discovered that the concrete of the dam had voids under the structure due to construction and settling.  There was NO evidence of water flow under the dam.  It was necessary to pump liquid cement under the dam to fill the voids.  The cracks were then filled.

Total cost aproximately $22,000.
