Willow Lake Annual Meeting
September 28, 2005
Meeting was called to order by President Joe Serafini (at aproximately 7:15pm.) There were nineteen members present, including five proxy 's. Members introduced themselves along with there lot number. Special welcome to our newest member to the lake, Tim (Diane) Regan, Lot 28.
Minutes from the General Meeting held June15, 2005 were read by Diane Kitts and accepted without corrections. The order of business was changed slightly to accommodate a report from Jim Kleindl and Greg Harrison who audited the Treasurer's books on August 31, 2005 and found them to be in order. Thank you Jim and Greg.
No formal fish report was given; however, as a reminder - if you catch any Carp do not throw them back in to the lake.
Water Quality testing has not been done for some time; however, Paul Schaefer volunteered to take over this position. We will need to get Paul in contact with Larry Frazee for that hand off and subsequent training.
Dam report from Martin Oakes indicates there have been no significant changes since the last report. Weed killer was applied on the streambed and any logs/limbs in the bed have been removed. The value was opened and the lake lowered an additional 3 inches bringing it to about six inches below its normal level. The valve is now open to ¼ and will be closed shortly. Andrew and Martin measured the silt in the catchment ponds and we do not feel it is necessary to dredge them in 2005. Part of this is based on the drought we've had in 2005. We will be checking for additional quotes for dredging in 2006.
Mowing by odd lots in 2005 has been good.
Jan Benoit presented budget. The balance of our loan (secured to build the dissipaters) should be paid off by March 2006. This will allow us to build cash flow in our account, as we will ultimately need to do work on the dam face itself. This repair is estimated to cost approximately $30,000.00 depending on inflation. Motion to accept the budget as proposed by Jim Kleindl, second by Martin Oakes, motion carried.
Mark your calendars; August 19, 2006 has been set for our annual lot owner's appreciation picnic. If you or anyone you know is interested in chairing or co-chairing this event, please contact Joe Serafini.
Proposed slate of officers for 2005-2006 was read:
President: Joe
Serafini
Vice
President: Bob Thomas
Secretary: Diane Kitts
Treasurer: Jan Benoit
Directors: Andrew Soria, Betty Kraft, and Nick
Namio
Motion by Jim Kleindl was made to accept the slate as presented, seconded by Betty Kraft, motion carried unanimously.
New Business: Paul Schaefer has some concerns about the hose from the aerator floating close to the top of the lake. He has volunteered to attach weights to keep it further below the surface.
Thanks to everyone who worked and helped with the upkeep of our lake during the past year. Special Thanks go to: Larry Frazee (mows our lot adjoining his), Wayne Kempthorne (mows both sides of the catchment ponds), and Roger Gorsline (mows the dam area adjoining his lot). Larry & Mary Frazee for cooking those great brats, burgers, and hotdogs and use of their lot for our picnic To Harry Benoit, Larry Frazee, Joe, and Wayne Kempthorne for picking up deceased Grass Carp right after the winter thaw. To all our officers who have worked and attended meetings.
Paul Schafer motioned to adjourn, seconded by Martin Oakes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned 8:10PM.
